More Things to Listen to...

I am clearly addicted to podcasts. Although Robert Harrison and the whole Stanford intellectual circle may be rather high falutin, Stephen Hinton is really good in these interviews. One is on Beethoven and the other on Kurt Weil.

  1. That Beethoven podcast was really intriguing. Stephen Hinton's comment about the Opus 18 string quartets being written in an amateur style, or at least at a level which amateurs could play them, got me thinking that we should program a movement from one of them for Block 2. But if we're already doing that Brahms piece I'm sure there wouldn't be enough time for rehearsal and such. However, we can definitely play some Beethoven quartets for our radio show. Perhaps one each week, each from one of his diferent periods? Let me know if you guys have any suggestions. I'm pretty sure Ben and I will play Number 13.
